The past couple of years at Einaudi have been tremendously busy. In 2018 the winery announced that they would be continuing their expansion into the Barolo territory. The winery purchased five acres of hilltop vineyards in the Monvigliero cru, as well as a winery on the property, for $4.2 million.
In 2019, Matteo will be introducing his Barolo “Bussia” with the 2015 vintage. The 2015 vintage has already been lauded by the press as one of the best in the Piedmont region. The hot summer produced high-quality grapes across most of Piedmont’s varietals but was particularly kind to Nebbiolo grapes.
